Auction Results 07 March 2020

Domain released their preliminary results for today.

Volume is significantly down from last week – possibly a function of the Melbourne long weekend, or perhaps the hit of doubts regarding the Covid-19? Still higher than last year at this time.

Canberra listed 23 auctions, reported 15 and sold 11, with 1 withdrawn and 4 passed in to give a Domain clearance of 69%.

Brisbane listed 76 auctions, reported 43 and sold 26, with 1 withdrawn and 17 passed in to give a Domain clearance of 59%.

Adelaide listed 44 auctions, reported 29, and sold 22, with 2 withdrawn and 7 passed in.

Auction Results 29 Feb 2020

Domain released their preliminary results for today.

The volumes remain quite strong (though still well down on a couple of years ago).

Canberra listed 65 auctions, reported 48 and sold 33 with 15 passed in to give a Domain clearance of 69%.

Brisbane listed 82 auctions, reported 41 and sold 29 with 1 withdrawn and 12 passed in to give a Domain clearance of 69%

Adelaide listed 64 auctions, reported 24 and sold 18 with 2 withdrawn and 6 passed in to give a Domain clearance of 69%

Note I find it surprising all three have the same 69% result.

Auction Results 22 Feb 2020 (late)

Domain released their latest preliminary results last Saturday. This is posted late due to DFA maintenance, but we have been asked to share as normal, if delayed.

Canberra listed 60 auctions, with 43 results in and 30 sold, 1 was withdrawn and 13 passed in to give a Domain clearance of 68%.

Brisbane listed 68 auctions, with 30 results in and 19 sold, 6 were withdrawn and 11 passed in to give a Domain clearance of 53%.

Adelaide listed 56 auctions, with 30 results and 20 sold, 5 were withdrawn and 10 passed in.

Auction Results 15 Feb 2020

Domain has released their preliminary auction results for today.

The volumes are still pretty strong, with Sydney ahead of Melbourne.

Canberra listed 41 auctions, reported 28 and sold 26, with 1 withdrawn and 2 passed in, giving a Domain clearance of 90%.

Brisbane listed 81 auctions, reported 53 and sold 35, with 2 withdrawn and 18 passed in to give a Domain clearance of 64%.

Adelaide listed 53 auctions, reported 31 and sold 25, with 2 withdrawn and 6 passed in to give a Domain clearance of 76%.

Auction Results 08 Feb 2020

Domain released their preliminary results for today (the first full week back in the new year).

Volumes are up on last year at the same time and clearance rates will be higher (though will settle below 74.7% as more results come in).

Canberra listed 51, reported 36 and sold 30, with 6 passed in giving a Domain clearance of 83%.

Brisbane listed 84, reported 35 and sold 14 with 3 withdrawn and 21 passed in giving a Domain clearance of 37%.

Adelaide listed 50, reported 27 and sold 16 with 11 passed in giving a Domain clearance of 59%.

Domain released their preliminary results for today.

Canberra listed 69 auctions, reported 58 with 40 sold and 1 withdrawn and 18 passed in to give a Domain clearance of 68%.

Brisbane listed 88 auctions, reported 25 and sold 16 with 3 withdrawn and 9 passed in to give a Domain clearance of 57%.

Adelaide listed 79 and reported 49 with 38 sold, 5 withdrawn and 11 passed in to give a Domain clearance of 70%.

Now, my own calculations put the effective clearance rates much lower.

For example Brisbane listed 88 and sold 16, giving a DFA estimate of 18.2%, not 57%. This on the assumption that sold property will be reported with more vigor by agents compared with passed in properties.

Auction Results 30 Nov 2019

Domain released their preliminary results for today.

Clearance rates are sliding as we approach the summer break, but still higher than last year. More sold volume than then too.

Canberra listed 69 auctions, reported 47 and sold 30 with 1 withdrawn and 17 passed in. Domain reports a 63% clearance, but we get 43%.

Brisbane listed 88 auctions, reported 25 and sold 16 with 3 withdrawn and 9 passed in. Domain reports a 57% clearance, but we get 18.2%.

Adelaide listed 79, reported 44 and sold 35, with 5 withdrawn and 9 passed in. Domain reports a 71% clearance, but we get 44.3%.

In Sydney we get 59.8% and in Melbourne 54.9%.

Auction Results 23 Nov 2019

Domain released their preliminary results for today.

The listing volume is reported as higher than last year, though its not clear whether this includes properties sold beforehand.

Canberra listed 59, reported 53 and sold 37, with 2 withdrawn and 16 passed in. Domain reports a 67% clearance rate.

Brisbane listed 94, reported 50 and sold 31, with 3 withdrawn and 19 passed in. Domain reports a 58% clearance rate.

Adelaide listed 91, reported 45 and sold 30, with 12 withdrawn and 15 passed in. Domain reports a 53% clearance rate.

We calculate the current ratio of listed to sold, giving lower results (which may change as more results come in).

Auction Results 16 Nov 2019

Domain released their preliminary results for today.

The latest results continue the high clearance rates, with volumes now tracking closely to those a year ago (when momentum had ebbed away).

Canberra listed 66 auctions, reported 54 and sold 39, with 3 withdrawn and 15 passed, giving a Domain clearance of 68%.

Brisbane listed 86 auctions, reported 34 and sold 15, with 14 withdrawn and 5 passed in, giving an Domain clearance of 38%.

Adelaide listed 93 auctions, reported 32 and sold 27, with 14 withdrawn and 5 passed in, giving a Domain clearance of 59%.

Interestingly, the number of auctions advertised before the day was around 480, compared with the 763 reported in Sydney.
